Echinacea purpurea x parado
'Primadonna' Common Names: Coneflower |
| Description: | |
|
The white blooms measure 4 to 5 inches across, with a large central cone and tightly-packed white petals that stand out brilliantly even from across the garden. Flowers on sturdy, thick stems just made for cutting. Primadonna may sport an unusual color for Echinacea, but it has the same native vigor and tolerance of stress as the more common pink Coneflowers. This plant reaches 28 to 32 inches high, with superior branching and an airy, long-stemmed habit that looks good in border or large containers. Give it a sunny spot and watch it take off. |

| Recommendations: | |
| We like to use it along walks or borders. While it does bloom steadly until late fall we did find deheading helps. | |
| Problems: | |
| Remember that good drainage is recommended for all echinaceas. We first planted it in a sunny but damp location where it bloomed but never thrived, Once we moved it to a drier location it really took off. |
