Rudbeckia fulgida speciosa 'Newmanii'
Common Names: Compact Black-Eyed Susan

Description:
Rudbeckia maxima forms attractive clumps or heads of foliage low to the ground. Somewhat wilder looking than most of the well-known cultivars, this species holds bright orange-yellow flowers with densely clustered petals on strong, wiry stems.

Rudbeckia 'Newmanii' opens in early May with lots of typically cheerful blooms atop 2' plants with deeply serrated leaves. In our sunny garden, bloom finishes up in mid-summer when other Rudbeckias are just kicking in. Easy care and native.

Problems:
Does not like soggy soil but water before soil dries out.
