Hemerocallis hybrid 'Pandora's Box'
Common Names: Day Lily

Description:
   H. 'Pandora's Box' has flowers of rich cream with a striking violet-purple eyezone above a bright green throat. Blossom segments are ruffled, with a round, flat form. The flowers are entirely sunfast, unique, and distinctive. This vigorous grower is also a rapid propagator. This little beauty will continue to bloom well after very chilly nights. The blooms of 'Pandora's Box' are cream with a purple eye zone and green throat, and carry a light, sweet scent. Bloom begins in early to midsummer and continues sporadically through summer.

Daylilies are incredibly versatile and beautiful garden plants--it's no wonder they have been favorites for so many generations. Using two greek words, hemero- meaning "day," and kellos, meaning "beautiful," hemerocallis were aptly named in reference to the one-day duration of each flower. Daylilies are tolerant of full sun to shade and can thrive in nearly any soil, making them an indispensible perennial for any garden. These adaptable, low-maintenance plants have been recognized in Chinese literature since 1000 B.C.
