Description:
   Balsam Fir is an attractive pyramidal evergreen with a symmetrical growth habit. The short, 2-ranked needles are dark green with white bands on the underside. The trunk is gray and has raised blisters full of fragrant resin. This conifer is native in the lakes region of the upper midwest.

Balsam Fir is used as a Christmas tree. Prefers a rich, well drained soil and requires ample moisture. Performs best in cool climates; foliage becomes sparse in hot, dry conditions.
